Cleaning for a Fiver

Hoping to have a glimpse of what it feels like to be a cleaner, I placed posters in public, offering up my cleaning services to absolute strangers. People responded and I got to work! Honestly, it was quite a hair-raising experience, and I realised that being a Cleaner is actually really tough.

After all the cleaning jobs, I made a book out of it, documenting the cleaning challenges, my feelings and afterthoughts. I wanted this book to show that being a Cleaner is actually very tough physically and mentally, even though they are paid to do it. Daily, it is most certain that they would have to see, smell and clean something that is so vile, and yet because it is their job to do it, they have to. I would have hoped to raise the level of consciousness in others towards our personal actions.
